Connection check for your Chromatic
If the installer or the cartridge page cannot talk to your Chromatic, this page finds out why. It tries eight ways of setting up the USB connection and asks the Chromatic for its version each time. It changes nothing on your Chromatic and installs nothing. It takes about 90 seconds.
The page sends us the result: the yes or no of each step, your system and browser, and the firmware version your Chromatic answered with. No device ids. What it sends.
Please open this page in Chrome or Edge on a computer
Only Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer can talk to the Chromatic over USB.
Before you start
- Switch your Chromatic ON and plug it into this computer.
- Close the installer page, the cartridge page and the ModRetro Update Tool.
- The check takes about 90 seconds: the Wi-Fi chip restarts a few times and needs about 12 seconds each time. A game that is running restarts too.
Chrome shows a list. Pick Chromatic - Player 01 and click Connect.

The page sends us the table by itself. If you wrote to us about a problem, paste this into your message (Reddit or email) so we know which result is yours. It holds your system and browser version, the table above and the Chromatic's firmware version. Nothing else.
If your Chromatic looks odd now (a frozen screen, no Wi-Fi), switch it OFF and ON. That puts everything back.
